The Queen’s Revenge

Sirens blare as red lights flash throughout the halls. A man in sunglasses

and black clothing runs to answer the phone, “Subject 0101 has

escaped.”

Subject 0101 was discovered by a submarine in the far depths of the

ocean in the mid 1800’s. Transferred and held in a secret facility on Fort

Jefferson in the Florida Keys, the subject was studied and experimented,

as it held a genetic makeup unlike any other being on Earth. With an

appearance of a jellyfish, Subject 0101 was anything but a jellyfish, it was

smart, cunning, and deadly. Considered to be too dangerous, the

scientists placed Subject 0101 in a comatose state hoping that the future

generation could continue their research.

Due to careless government actions and endless mundanities of

bureaucracy, the status of Subject 0101 was neglected, and it began to

awake. Angered by its years of abuse and mistreatment from the human

race, it found an opportunity to escape into the ocean which surrounded

the fortress.

Thunder roared as Subject 0101 assembled an army of jellyfish.

Onlookers from a passing boat gazed in awe when Fort Jefferson started

to glow, “beautiful”, they murmured.

Known for their unfortunate stings, rarely do people understand the true

danger of jellyfish blooms. Deemed the ‘Next King of the Sea’ by the

Smithsonian magazine, these unlucky humans would soon discover that

they were at the mercy of the jellyfish.
